TheNerdyOne_ Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I've been sitting on this build for a few weeks in hopes of releasing a time-lapse video of the build process, but I realized this morning that I had accidentally deleted all of the footage. So anyway, now that that's no longer holding me back, I guess it's time to show it off! I had a lot of fun working on this build, it has a lot of interesting shapes and the circular region in back was a fun challenge. Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's in the same scale as my other Star Wars ships for those who have seen them. Thanks for viewing! You can check out my other ships and such on my Flickr, linked in my signature. Quote
icm Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 It doesn't look much like Star Wars to me, but it does look like the ships I've always imagined for another Galactic Empire - the one ruled from Trantor. Either way, it's a nice build. Quote

LegoCalrissian Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 This is fantastic! I always loved the support ships that West End Games introduced to the Star Wars Universe back in the late '80's. And Timothy Zahn used them so well in his Thrawn books. Would love to see a Strike-class Medium Cruiser. Quote
DrMuttonchops Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) I love the Lancer, and you did a fantastic job with it! Great attention to detail and shaping, it's so accurate! My only critique would be to maybe change the vent tiles that represent to bridge to trans light blue, or even trans light blue tiles? They might look more bridge-y. I think I tried that actually, but I wanted it to be consistent with the "windows" on the bottom black part of the ship, and I thought white for all of the worked just a bit better than trans-light blue for all of them. Some trans-light blue tiles with printing may have actually been perfect though, in hindsight. Quote

Raskolnikov Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Looks great, always fun to see what the next addition to your fleet will be! I'm not too familiar with the ship design (been a while since I read the Thrawn trilogy), but it's clearly reminiscent of the Dreadnoughts appearing in similar source materials. Man, I sure hope LEGO eventually makes those bubble canopy pieces and 4x4 wedges in light bluish gray, as they'd be useful in making certain other Star Wars ships. Quote
