SirNadroj Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Hello! I just bought the new "Speed Racer" set "Cruncer Block and Racer X". While looking at Cruncher Block's head, I though to myself "Hey, this would make a good Sweeney Todd head (from the Broadway musical, not the film). Well, you know me, bright ideas keep popping into my head and I keep thinking...."Seems an awful waste. Such a nice fleshie head, what's his name has, had, has, and it would make a good George Hearn/Sweeney Todd Head". Ok, ok, enough of my musicaly modified quotes. So I put together a new Sweeney minifigure from the play, and compared it to my original Sweeney. I like the new one better, but that's my opinon. And while I'm posting this, I thought I might as well make a poll to see what your preference is. I know they're not in the same costume, but Depp is only in the classic "suspenders" costume for one scene in the film. So they are really different, but what the heck, right? Here are the figures: 1st one on left is Hearn, the 2nd on the right is Depp: (Suspenders are made with an elastic band over the shoulders) And here's Angela Lansbury and George Hearn as Mrs. Lovett ans Sweeney Todd. I know Lovett doesn't look old enough. Any suggestions? Vote away! And thanks for looking ~ feedback for suggestions and improvement is always appreciated! Quote
Atoll Dweller Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I prefer the George Hearn version as well. Quote
Corvus Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I saw the Broadway musical in school. I liked it a lot better than the new one- so I voted Hearn. Very good. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Well I know nothing about Sweeney Todd, but I picked Hearn. I love the bracers! Quote
Dragonator Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Well, I voted for George Hearn, however they are both cool customs! Quote
Plural Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) For Mrs Lovett's face try buying Aunt May's face from one of the spiderman fleshie sets. It's the only old women face I can think of. Edited April 21, 2008 by Plural Quote
Tanotrooper Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Or the Hermione head... That face actually looks a bit older... TT Quote
Flatfoot Thompsen Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) I chose Depp because of the streak of white in his hair. Edited April 22, 2008 by Flatfoot Thompsen Quote
Kingboy Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I voted for the Hearn minifig, by which of course I mean Len Cariou... Quote
SirNadroj Posted April 23, 2008 Author Posted April 23, 2008 Thanks for your opinons and votes, guys! Seems pretty close. I voted for the Hearn minifig, by which of course I mean Len Cariou... How can you mean Cariou if I haven't made him yet. I'm sure he'll be next. (I like Len's singing better than George's, but I like George's gumption better. ) Quote
cartoondude Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) Awesome Sweenneys. May i recommend this torso for Jonny: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?pg=1&a...mp;searchSort=P you can color over the gold H with a sharpe or just use brasso. Edited April 23, 2008 by cartoondude Quote
DarkYamiDragon Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I've seen clips of both of them, and Johnny Depp is the best. Hands down. (Yet that's just my opinion...) Quote
