alvinofdiaspar Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) Just a new AFOL member here - getting back into Lego in a big way after having grew up with it in the early 80s (think 6365, 6374, 6371, 6392, 6075, 6950, etc.) Mainly interested in Architecture, Modulars, City, Christmas and MOCs Edited February 6, 2019 by alvinofdiaspar Quote
Saint_Miroku Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Welcome to the site! It's great to see someone else who's getting back into Lego following some time away from it! Quote

Right now I am trying to buy back some of the modulars, explore some MOC ones and trying to see what's out there in terms of high-tech styled architectural builds. Jody Meyer Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Welcome fellow Canuck, also an AFOL, took about the same then hit it hard coming back. There is a great amount of information here, just ask. Lots of amazing builders here for inspiration. I was in Oakville but now in Elliot Lake, retired. Quote
leafan Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Welcome to Eurobricks, alvinofdiaspar. I'm glad that you've re-discovered Lego. My best advice is to find what you enjoy the most before dumping a lot of cash into it, then go ham Quote

Will do - my problem isn't the lack of inspiration - but the sheer volume of it! And funny, I am literally 5 mins away from Oakville! 11 hours ago, leafan said: Welcome to Eurobricks, alvinofdiaspar. dr_spock Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Welcome aboard, alvinofdiaspar. Pacing may be hard when we have 3 LEGO Stores and 1 LEGO Discovery Centre in Toronto. Quote

Thank you and indeed. we definitely do not have a lack of stores here in the GTA - though I admit I have mainly used the Lego online store, eBay and Bricklink more, and I haven't been to the Discovery Centre yet. As hinted before, it's way, way too late about pacing myself - my reintroduction to Lego started off with some small Lego Architecture sets (Eiffel Tower and Space Needle), but it quickly snowballed to Ferris Wheel, Big Ben and modulars. And I haven't even started getting back into Technic yet. Quote

Normally you can't get into the attraction area without a kid or two in tow. The next one Feb. 22nd. Quote

Not in a super rush to visit - nothing beats hands on play. Quote
