turk187 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) I'm dying to add a loop to my lego Pirate Coaster and have been looking at ways to do it. This one is good, but too big and not round enough for my taste. This one - Is the one I really wanted to copy, but I've come to the conclusion that they are cheating. I think they glued some parts together to make it work. Which is too bad as its really cool. I've come up with a design for a piece that would cross-over from the vertical to side-ways orientation that would allow it to work, but am not sure how to make that work. Does anyone have any ideas of how this can work with legal building techniques? Just figured it out. Instructions to follow. Edited January 1, 2019 by turk187 new information Quote

You can check the original thread (in German) here which also shows how the looping is build with a screenshot: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=408618#id408618 Quote

I'm currently building an expanded pirate coaster with the loop. Quote

Any looping setup is going to put stress on the parts because a vertical loop has to have the loop but in order to have an entry and an exit track, there is some horizontal shift required. Without specialized parts being 3D printed or $$$$$$$$ in tooling to make some custom looping sections, the entire concept of the loop is "illegal" Quote
