xzanfr Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Hello, All.. The new series of battlestar galactica starts this week in the U.K. on Sky1. (and, presumably throughout Europe -if not..., why not - meanies!!) I wondered if anyone's interested it in and wants to speculate or discuss (I appreciate this will be a bit 'old hat' for our north American friends ) I've only seen the trailer and about 10 seconds of episode 1 and really don't want to find out any spoilers but it's always interesting to hear other peoples views on such a complicated and twisty story. What do you think will happen?.. Quote

yellost Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Yaay, that's a fantastic Sci-Fi serie. One of the best I've ever seen, right on par with Farscape and Firefly! I love the way they wrote the cylon, building more and more like us earth human than those i the serie, which makes it hard to see where they're going with it... My guess, the people on earth are the children of the Cylon, which would end it in a straight symmetry of the beginning... And the dogfights are always a treat to watch. Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I saw episode 1 a couple of weeks ago and episode 2 on Saturday. All I have to say is that the first episode kicked megablocks, and the second was even better. I just hope they don't do what they did with season 3. Which is spend their entire budget on the first six episodes and have to make the rest into a courtroom drama. Quote
xzanfr Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 I've still not seen episode 1 but hopefully will this week. I've heard it's a good one, though. Similar to Star Trek Next Gen, there seems to be 3 types of episode - Fighting ones, thinking ones and chatting ones! Series 3 relied too much on the chatting episodes (with the Cylons being revealed at the end of the last episode) and I agree with Mr Hobbles that there needs to be a bit more thinking / fighting in it. Being the last series, I assume that they will find Earth but I imagine that there will be one huge twist at the end. In the pilot they introduced Boxy (the young lad who had that robot dog in the original series). I think that he'll make an appearance towards the end of this series to stir thing up. I love Yellost's idea that we're all Cylons - brilliant!!! (Thanks Mr. Mandalorian/Yoda for moving the topic) Quote
