Megamech Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 After stumbling upon Markus Kossman's video on 8275 I started to wonder about other sets designed by him and upon quick search found this page with an old and incomplete list: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/50706-the-existential-pleasures-of-building-to-a-plan/&do=findComment&comment=900897 Is there a newer and more complete list somewhere that I couldn't find? If not, why don't we make one ? Quote
R0Sch Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Based on the above link and multiple other sources like forums and designer workshop videos I've compiled several lists on brickset. Feedback from grohl was that not even the designers know who designed every LEGO Technic set, so I have little hope we will ever find out who designed the older sets, but I am hoping the community might be able to help gather the missing info. You can view them here:https://brickset.com/bricklists/author-R0Sch Milan Reindl created and updates his own list:https://brickset.com/bricklists/author-grohl Quote

NKubate Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) Jeroen Ottens might know who worked on certain models during the 90's. And I know which designers worked on most models from 2004 - 2010 in a period that I worked there myself. Most of these are however already known as shown in the lists above. In many cases models are also developed as a team effort, meaning that more designers were involved during development. That's why lists are inconsistent or that models are under multiple designers. However there should be a lead designer on each model. Then the website Techlug is probably most accurate. Edited January 30, 2021 by NKubate Quote

According to TLG, 8283 (Telehandler, 2006) was a team effort, with several designers all contributing to it. However, when I asked David Bird, who also designed for the Technic department in that timeframe, he told me it was Alfred Pedersen who designed 8283. If that is the case, then was Alfred the lead designer for that set, and who else added to it? Quote

Yes, we know any set is a team effort, that's why I am happy to mention all involved designers in my bricklists. I also checked Techlug as can be seen in the comments for source material. If you have any further set info, please let me know and I can add it on brickset. It's a "living document" so let us gather everything we can. Does anyone have a close connection to Kossi for example? P.S. I added a list with Technic sets designed by you. Let me know if it's missing something. https://brickset.com/sets/list-41674 Edited January 30, 2021 by R0Sch Quote
