TechnicRCRacer Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Hi again! (No, this is not a contest entry ) I have decided to actually base a model off of a real car that caught my eye in my neighborhood. Here is a photo: The challenge: Four wheel drive, four wheel steering, four-speed automatic transmission (I will figure it out or make a dummy one) and the iconic body shape and windows. Another challenge is the insanely weird proportions of the car (very long and narrow). Here is my progress so far: Driveable and steered axle with suspension. Needs a little strengthening, but otherwise works great! I will add updates soon! -TechnicRCRacer Quote
letsbuild Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 I look forward to more progress! Followed. Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 Thanks! So far, I have improved the suspension structurally, built the basics fo the flat 6 engine, and started on a transmission concept. I think I misplaced my black 7L axle, would come in handy right now... Quote
1gor Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Good thing is that it has flat 6 cylinder engine, so you can make it small scale. Bodywork is more suited to LEGO parts that Porsche, so it could be great MOC Quote
Essge Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 (edited) This is a cool project. How big wheels are you gonna use? If you want, I could try to make some custom rims for this project. Edited February 28, 2019 by Essge changed size of pic Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 Hey, that is nice! I haven’t been working on this too much lately besides finishing the chassis and interior, but once I get further along, I could probably use custom rims like these photos: SVX I know it will be a challenge, but it would be cool! Essge Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I cant see the content in the link. Motortrend hate to loose money to Europe. Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 That's odd. Here is a picture of what I was talking about. Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 Heh, update time! I have not posted updates for a while because i got 42082 and had other activities I was focusing on. I have decided to scrap the gearbox idea for this project and I have finished the chassis. I ran out of parts for the front axle and hopefully I will order them of BL soon. The 4-wheel steering and drive works fine and I have decided to only make the front two seats of the interior and leave the back empty to fit gears. More to come soon! Photo: Quote
