So if you are so certain (and you know better), you could give some advice instead of just criticism

I did. It should be 3 studs wide.

and did you show him your solution prototype to have acceptable stiffness?

Stiffness doesn't depend on width. Just look at 8862! There are 2 and 4 studs and all work well!

The modern tools would let him make it even slimmer!

OK, but you have to learn that if you have to complain on something you have to be in position to make it better to prove that it is possible and nut just to say this is wrong, or that is wrong...

BTW good luck with your MOC

Yehveh is an amazing detective and there's no cheating him. He discovered what I've explained right when this MOC was published, in the description at my website which  is linked to in the very first post. Quote:

The excavator arm was obviously much too wide – I have initially used a single pneumatic cylinder to raise it, but towards the end of the build the cylinder wasn’t sufficient to handle its full weight, so I’ve added another one. Two cylinders combined were perfectly capable of rising even fully extended arm from horizontal to vertical position.

Mystery solved. Stiffness isn't an issue here, and yes, the arm should be 3 studs wide (shockingly, I do use my own scaler tool), but a single pneumatic cylinder is simply too weak to operate the arm at full weight (there's a motor at the end of the arm and plenty of structure).

Thank you, mr. Yehveh for producing 6 comments on such a very well hidden secret. EB wouldn't be the same without you.

You've been on the forum for months and all you've ever done is talk rubbish about other people's work without ever showing anything of yours. Put up or shut up.

He's got no time to build left, he's busy hating me full-time ;)

He should grow up and stop hating and find some other amusement

I see...now you can use universal joint from 42070 set I stead of 3 black gears 12 tooth double bevel at rear axle and redesign your Jeep; it is better late then never

No. The single 12 axle makes the chassis stronger overall.
