commandosevy Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I've wonder what YOU have thought lego might attempt on the SW line what do you think? Quote
Plural Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I think that this may be the same as this thread here: Your 2009 wishlist Quote
goggleson Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Plural he means what they might do, not what you want. I think they might re-do the episode one sets and make us our wanted 501st battlepack! Quote
jifel Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 an ep. 2 clone set with a tank of some sort for $20, some new kind of xwing or a tie, DS playset, mostly CW stuff, a droid shuttle, a large clone tank, several small sets, lots of jedi, etc. jifel Quote

commandosevy Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 One expectation I have is for lego to drop their prices!! Quote
Vaders_son Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 LEGO won't drop it's prices. Thought I'd like them to do. I don't think they'll do to much on the CW series but in 2009 there'll be the life action series - so they might do some stuff from that event. But that would mean no jedi because we know there wont be the main figures, like luke skywalker in it and that means no jedi in this series at all I feel. Best regards, Benny Quote
The Kid Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Looking at the pattern of the last couple of years, there'll most likely be a couple of small sets (Battle Packs?), two medium sized sets, and two larger sets. For example: 2 @ $10 (Battle Packs) 2 @ $20 (Hailfire Droid/JSF) 1 @ $40 (AT-AP) 1 @ $50 (Rogue Shadow) That is what we got this year (2008). In 2007 it followed much the same pattern: 2 @ $10 (Battle Packs) 2 @ $20 (AT-ST/Grevious' SF) 1 @ $40 (Y-Wing Fighter) 1 @ $50 (ILC) So I would think it would be safe to assume the trend will continue into 2009. TK So then, in 2009. Spring 2009 2 @ $10 (EP IIish BP(like in the CW); BD and Droideka BP) 2 @ $20 (AT like vehicle, droid carrier (12 droid plus 2 pilots)) 1 @ $40 (RE Y-wing, 2 pilots and Astromech) 1 @ $50 (Theta Class Troop Carrier with ARC troopers) Fall 2009 2 @ $10 (501st bp (1 commander, 1 comms, 2 infantry; mixed "Divisions" Bp (one of each of the other major divisions, plus parts to make 1 a commander, head binoculars, paldrons, kama) 2 @ $20 (Basic TIE fighter(for live action), fighter for rebels (unknown) 1 @ $40 (Z-95 Headhunter) 1 @ $50 (Main Characters vehical... otherwise major revamped (and I say this with great trepidation bordering on fear) Boba Fett's Slave 1 Quote
The Kid Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 To be honest, I'd expect Snowtrooper/Hoth Rebel or Scout Trooper/Endor Rebel BPs, seeing as 2007 and 2008 have had droid-type BPs (Droid BP, Hailfire Droid). And teh Fall line doesn't always follow the same pattern - look at 2007: 2 @ $30 (Sith Infiltrator/Naboo Starfighter) 1 @ $50 (JSF) 1 @ $100 (MTT) and Fall 2008 has the sub-line - the Clone Wars range. So for 2009 I'd expect another Clone Wars wave or a pattern similar to 2007 - probably the former. TK Quote

Palin Jax Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) But why do we expect anything OT to come out next year? I mean, sure, I love OT... But in all regards, there is very little left to expound on the OT side. Now you could argue for some OT EU type craft, like the TIE Defender, or maybe a TIE/sh (shuttle), seen ever so briefly on Empire, but in my opinion, I believe Lego will exploit the Live Action and CW lines because they will be fresh. Again, I reiterate my desire to see more OT, but tell me where we can get them. Beside, I have seen a history of negative posts on rehashed designs, or having two or more incarnations of vehicles. And when Lego has gone EU for the OT, people always begrudge them that as well. Tk, you are correct on the big ticket items, so heres my slot options for those. Spring 2009 1 @ $150 (Royal Na boo Transport) collectors set Fall 1 @ $100 (Live Action Vehicle) Edited April 13, 2008 by Palin Jax Quote
Palin Jax Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 what's 'live action'? WHAT? Star Wars: Live Action series... coming out in 09, but it may get pushed back until 2010. If you didn't know this... Well, it's been talked about for months now, so I hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag for you ... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 What I don't think that TLG will release next year: -"normal" sets based on episode 1 and 2 -remakes of Y-, X-, A- and B-Wing Fighters -many new characters (mainly OT) What I think that TLG will release next year: -more sets based on the FU and CW -sets based on some TV series (I'm not familiar with all the SW TV stuff which will be there ) -some Endor sets (perhaps Endor BPs, too) -the Tantive 4 as 10 year celebration S@H Exclusive -perhaps an episode 1 or 3 ship as second S@H Exclusive Quote
Vaders_son Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 They could do some sort of Padme's ship she owned as a senator - that would be sweet And it would be big enough to be a collector edition. Anyone ever thought of a MonCal cruiser?!?! They're - though a very difficult job to design properly... Benny Quote
