Awerick Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 i have issues with lining a cross axle through a 1x1 technic brick and then through a plate with holes in that is in a 90 degree angel. See the pictures. The black part and the red one does not aline. I have tried all the solutions I can come up with, do you have any solution to this? Quote
zux Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 That is known fact. Please have a look at this presentation. Quote
bonox Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 I would postulate that the mathematics behind it was to align gear teeth which always do not align two orthogonal holes - otherwise you'd need a small gear of pitch circle diameter identical to the axle on which it rides and that's not in system. The overlap is not as much as the misalignment in the OPs image, though. In fact, the offset is very small. The misalignment here is because the hole in the plate is 60 LDU from the base (on center) and the hole in the brick is just a bit over 62 LDU from the base (on center). The difference is not so much that it impedes an axle passing through if you use a typical geometry like this (the side stud in the top brick attaches in the hole at the end of the plate): Quote
