Corvus Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 This is one of the hardest things to do in a kid's game- trying to find enough communication to get the message across, but not too much freedom that ends up in a curse-out. The best thing, I think, would be to do what some games do- have both. A side for younger members that can only choose pre-made sentences, and another that permits free language, with reservations. It is possible to set up a blocker, right? Quote

Pencoin Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 i belive a good idea is to make a filter that blocks swearing and such and a report system so if they managed to say something bad you can report them and theyll change the filter so it cant be said again. Quote
Millacol88 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 These are all valid points and good ideas, but having an age block of some sort might not work. If the younger players can only say a few pre-made phrases, then a 10-year-old could easily lie and say they are eighteen in order to have more freedom. As for the swear block/report system, that is a great idea and will most likely find its way into the game. Quote
Darth Destro Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I think you should be able to type whatever you want, but with filters and moderators who sweep the chats. A report buton would be a great idea but kids might go around reporting people for fun. Remember this is a kids game. It wont be focused on us adults. Quote
Zorro Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 A report button, just like the one on the EB forum (and alikes), is a MUST ! Moderators would be very welcome too, but that comes with such a great cost I'm afraid...unless it would be a voluntary-based system, but I doubt that would be an option if they are going to charge a monthly fee for it, after all: who wants to work for free for an employer that makes loads of money?? I therefore hope there will be only a subscription fee/software fee... Quote
