ks6349 Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Hi, I am new to this forum , but not new to LEGO. However, I left LEGO for many years, now I am back because I have more time now. I'd like to know, how to keep the best condition of LEGO sets over time? Any special detergent needed to clean LEGO pieces? Or , is it good enough to just rub the parts with dry or damp cloth from time to time? Do I need any soap or anything special chemicals to keep it the best condition? I remember that in those old times the printing on the LEGO figures will fade away over time. Quote
koalayummies Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Wash hands before Lego. Assembled sets: dust blower bulb (commonly sold at photographic retailers) and microfiber towel if needed. Loose bricks: in drawers, bins and boxes, no dust. Quote

I understand regularly cleaning the dust is necessary to keep LEGO in good condition. However, It's also a very troublesome process using dust blower bulb. Can I blow the whole assembled set with electric fan at very mild speed instead? Will it clean out the dust as good? Another headache, how to handle stickers? It may be the most difficult... Thanks for advice Edited October 26, 2018 by ks6349 Quote
zux Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 You need to blow with compressed air if you really want to get rid of dust in means of air. But then it would bring an issue of blowing away parts/bricks. I'm not THAT picky to use so I use simple 20mm wide paint brush. These come with different properties, so you can easily find softer one. Quote
Johnny1360 Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 I store all my bricks in a shallow baking pan filled with corn syrup on a sunny window sill. Quote
