louisk Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 (edited) Here is another older one (something like 1978-1980). This hails from the instructions of the 8860 Auto Chassis (there may be other references to it). Its an amalgamation of sets 950, 955, 870, 871. I needed something to pick up with the crane, Classic Space to the rescue! Edited October 23, 2018 by louisk properly embedded images this time Quote
LucyCol Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Nice, I sometimes miss the simplicity of the early Expert builder sets, gears, axles, steering, it all seemed so new and fresh. Quote
louisk Posted October 23, 2018 Author Posted October 23, 2018 I agree. Its amazing all the things that can be done with modern parts, but I do love the old stuff. Simple, functional. Like square pistons. Quote
ludov Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Very cool. I like those old sets, they were from just before I started with LEGO and typically the stuff I would find a friends' places if they had slightly older siblings (or AFOL parents ). Quite functional considering the limit part palette. I'm wondering now why the 24z crown gear disappeared - its so functional! Quote
