Kwatchi Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 October 19, 618: Ms. Muggins Rooming House, Bastion Dear Mayor Von Bricktin, After months of inactivity, I find myself in mind of a change for the good of the service. It is therefore with regret that I must inform you that I am resigning my commission in the Charlatan Bay merchant marine and position as Commodore. This is to take effect immediately. As a number of my officers will be joining me in resignation from your employ, the command of the Toucan shall pass to whomever you deem fit. All the luck to you and Charlatan Bay, -Captain Silas Pike "KINGSTON!" "Mi deh yah Cap'n. Gwan den?" "I have just finished writing my retirement letter for that trumped-up goose of a two-bit smuggler who somehow now controls Charlatan Bay. I have taken the liberty of informing Von Bricktin you and the officers will be also be leaving with me. Once you read this letter, you'll under why I took such a liberty." "Mercy! Can tis be true?! Dat old man be still alive after all dat we eard?" "Yes. It appears the tales of his demise with the fall of Charlatan Bay were nothing but false rumours. Not only that, but he has gathered a pirate fleet and offered us the captaincy of his latest prize, a mardierian sloop-of-war." "Much respect me and de bredren have for 'im. Mi a forward wit you. Dese glad tidins." "I have to agree. It will be nice to work with proper villains again." ===/===/===/=== Just a little scene I dreamed up a few weeks back after I realized we lack any analgous Caribbean culture in the BoBS world. And because I am very frugal, I'll license this as a small residence. Spoiler Quote
Roadmonkeytj Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 After reading the letter Gustaf immediately penned a response then sent a packet ship to reach Silas and his men before he was unreachable. Silas - While your services will be greatly missed, I understand your reasoning for wanting to resign. I'm afraid the great fleet is not what it once was and as the city struggles to find itself again your ship just sets moored in the Bay. Let this letter be your official release from duties, on good terms that is. I have a feeling our paths will cross again someday, but for now know that your crew is always welcome to make port. - Gustaf VonBricktin Mayor, Charlatan Bay _____ OoC: I really love the way this photographs... The movable walls and skull piece are brilliant. Very nice details in the furniture as well... With just enough to not make to room feel sparse. Quote

And a very nice build too - the bed is excellent, and I absolutely agree with Roadmonkey that the different angles shown by moving the walls is ingenious! I might... erhm... steal... I mean borrow, of course, that technique at some point... Quote
Professor Thaum Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 This room is very smart, and like @Bregir I may borrow some ideas. Really great door and clever furniture Quote
Kwatchi Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 Thanks for the kind words. Nice to see I came up with a new technique (or possibly new). 9 hours ago, Professor Thaum said: Really great door I stole that one. Not all that happy with the rug. I ran into problems trying to get a small checked one that would lie on an angle. The rest I am happy with though. Quote
