Derek Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Great Find Hinckley! I wonder if the interior (if it has one) is juat as cool as the outside... Quote
legotrainfan Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Wonderful house with a good colour combination! I especially like one little detail: the eaves gutter. Quote
Quarryman Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) As a matter of fact I'm visiting aj-ml, the builder of that pub, right now. Somewhat scary coincidence ;-) And I have a hard time stopping my heart from beating, her LEGO collection is HUGE. At least 1000 unopened sets, maybe 250k bricks.. a most impressive treasure cave :-D (No, I won't tell you where she lives ;-)) Edit: Now, I have to add that the reason for my visit to aj-ml's was to borrow a rather large amount of bricks for a MOC I'm building together with a friend for Legoworld Oslo. I hope I can show some WIP-shots during/after this coming weekend. It's going to be quite large, covering (almost at least) 12 48x48 baseplates (the football field kind actually ;-)) Edit2: Also, The Jolly Brick looks a lot better IRB, aj-ml has used some quite brilliant techniques some places *wub* Edited April 9, 2008 by Quarryman Quote
LuxorV Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Thanks for sharing, Hinckley *classic* I really *wub* it, and I see some very interesting techniques. One of these days I should get back to house building *sadnew* LuxorV Quote
aj-ml Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 cool...is it a bar? It is classic British pub - not particularly fancy, and it is inspired by this on: in Cambridge. Thanks for all the nice comments - and when it comes to interior: It will come in v. 1.3 or something. As of now the minifig's will have to drink in the beer garden. aj-ml Quote

I was hoping we could entice you to join our site! Welcome to Eurobricks. Thanks so much for sharing your work with us. I absolutesly love it. Every time I look at it I catch another cool detail. My favorite is the use of the sextant piece: for the lighting fixtures. The whole thing is a simple and beautiful design. There's a lot of great detail in there without it being overloaded. Sometimes builders put too much detail in there and it takes away from the overall design. It's something I have to watch as a builder. But, you have a great handle on it, I think! You did an excellent job with the ivy, the radar dish, the hanging gable details and the rain gutter. Thanks again for sharing with us and welcome to Eurobricks. I hope we get to see a lot more from you in the future! Quote
