Carefree_Dude Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I think it's safe to say that it's not the size that matters, but how it functions Quote

TeamThrifty Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Big alone isn't great, and functions in something small has limited appeal... so in truth, its big and with functions thats the ideal for me. A whopper of a set does turn my head though... never mind the quality, feel the width!! Quote
Carefree_Dude Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I used to think I was a huge fan of massive technic sets, but then I got the porche and the bugatti; both of these sets are enormous, and they technically have functions, but the functions don't really do anything noticeable. Building them was a good experience with all the gears and everything, but once it's complete all you have is a pretty car to look at. I'd much rather have something like the volvo excavator or the Claas tractor which are significantly smaller, but do all sorts of things. Quote
Bublehead Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 @Goldenmasamune, ditto on pretty cars. Not my thing either, currently rebuilding my Claas as I type. But they had me at the wavy catch on the Bugatti and I got a good deal on a used Porsche. Quote

Saved me £292.50's worth of pretty blue bricks!! Now i'm using them to activate the 3 diff locks in my oversize xerion moc using 130mm wheels!! BWE wasn't pretty, but was all the more magnificent for it. Just a rugged technic build. Thats was i like, big hairy chested sets with plenty of functions. Quote
kelceycoe Posted Saturday at 07:29 AM Posted Saturday at 07:29 AM Anyone know what the difference was during the 1980s and 1990s : How did Lego define small, medium, and large? Because back then the smaller sets got 1 page mini-sheet catalogs while the medium and large sets got the medium catalog (here in the US) and large sets got the Large catalog in Europe. Quote
