Very interesting video of McKee giving his views on "How LEGO Caught the Cluetrain" *y*!

It´s 45 minutes long but IMO well worth watching (kim & morten - watch especially after 13 min 10 sec >:-) :-P).

Here´s the link. Pop those corns, open up a cold RB and get comfy *sweet*!

This video was linked to at my club's forums a few days ago - It's a recommended watch. *y*

It is extra interesting for me personally, because this connects easily to the subjects I have at college, or rather, those I have in next term. Anyone who runs or works in buisiness will find it at least as interesting as I do. :-)

Very interesting so far. I also love the pictures they used on the slideshow - "Let's take a step back to the future for a second" and then a delorean pops up

Good stuff.

Summary-

Adult fans spend a lot of money on LEGO and if the company ignores the adult fans they miss out on lots of money. So LEGO has been making sets specifically for adult collectors and it has proved profitable. Always listen and have communication with fans of your product.

Thanks for sharing this copmike, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I found it interesting to see how TLC has developed its business strategy to cater for adult fans. It's amazing how much one man can do for a business' attitude towards customers.

I viewed Jake's video after finding the info on BrothersBrick web site. I thought his perception of the AFOL community and how Lego was missing the "Clue Train" was very insightful. Overall, his views and ideas were "right-on track". I enjoyed the story of the CEO, Lawyer, and Production Manager (if I remember the three characters correctly). Jake will do well in any business with his view on knowing the customer. Jake gets :thumbup: in my book!
