This one might be correct because I was chatting with my SW buddy on MSN who knows an lego employee

Once in a while he gives him a sneak preview like with the walking AT-AT

He says the Death Star set includes the new Luke,Han and Obi from the UCS MF and is large playset like cloud city was before it

Something interestingly he did mention was that it included an exclusive fig

It could be the chrome R2! :'-)

Death Star sets? Plural? I thought we were getting just one! Flippin sweet!

Double T wasn't saying there will be several different Death Star sets. He wrote:

Perhaps a clearer way to say this is: "Some copies of set #10188 Star Wars Death Star, to be released later this year, will contain a silver R2D2."

Most of what Double T wrote is stuff that was already known or easily confirmed. The only 'bombshells' here are the silver R2D2 and his resignation from Eurobricks. Considering they were posted on April 1st, I'll take these with a grain of salt. If he had posted them by themselves everyone would call April Fools. But, post them with a bunch items that we know are true and the false ones seem more believable.

perhaps by "Death Star sets" he means not different individual sets but within all the death star 10188 (I thinks that the number) sets produced some will be lucky enough to get a silver R2, similar to the gold C-3PO promotion. Just a thought for consideration.

I hope it's wrong though, I'd love multiple death star sets to connect together.

If any of the "news" turns out to be true Double T sure picked a heck of a day to post it.

Surely some of the stuff is false, but I mean some of the stuff is also plausible.

On that note I hope that there will be multiple Death Star sets, maybe like my SW modular building set idea.

The Silver R2 D2 is probably false, simply because the parts that would be chrome Silver don't take up that much room on him, but then again you never know with TLG, and besides a partly chrome

Silver R2 D2 would rock. The only bad thing would be that I don't have the chrome Gold C-3PO. :'-(

On another note I hope Double T isn't resigning, but if he is I know we'll all miss him.

I wouldn't discount the Death Star set you know. While it hasn't been confirmed yet there have been some strong rumours...

If you count the Clone Wars feature length episode (showing from August 15th in the USA) as a Star Wars movie then you also have to include the two Ewoks films making the total count nine. And since no-one counts the Ewoks movies then I'm going to bet the that Clone Wars feature is going to fall into the same category.

Brickset does list a set with a set number of 10188 labeled as "SW Death Star" and "Ultimate Collectors Series" with a date of 2008...

Hmm, he has posted since then, and this is the only source that announces the "retirement". i am thinking it lacks enough evidence to say he is. But on such a touchy topic where we feel a need to want him to stay, we can only hope it is a joke.
