Duke Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 (edited) Dwarven Mine Click HERE for the gallery, should be moderated now I think. I recently purchased my first 'new' lego since pre dark ages and in fact went on quite a spending spree within the new castle line (it's all so nice!). As everyone else, my favourite was probably the Dwarven Mine so I was keen to make a MOC involving this. It's not huge and i'd have liked to have made something bigger but i'm afraid this was the limitation of my grey bricks for the moment. Anyway hope you enjoy! (Sorry if some of the pics in the gallery take a while to load, they're rather high quality :-$) Edited April 25, 2009 by Sir Dillon Quote
Zarkan Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Sorry, but the folder is still not moderated. From what I can tell from that one picture though, this looks good! I'll check back later. ;-) Quote
Duke Posted March 31, 2008 Author Posted March 31, 2008 Ah, I think that is my fault, I uploaded this resized picture for this post.. and I can only assume that it needs remoderating when edited. Apologies everyone, hope you will check back later *y* Quote
Faramir Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 It's public now, and it looks great! Like the nice blend of all the new castle sets and the old Forestmen-like sets. Also like the forge on the inside, but not sure if even a dwarf could fit in a chair that size up there! :-) --Faramir Quote
Asuka Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 A fine work with a very charming landscaping! :'-) The waterfall with that funny raftsman looks great, and the inside of your mine fits well too. Perhaps an additional drift could work nicely for a little extra mining feeling, but it´s really a neat MOC. *y* (Sorry if some of the pics in the gallery take a while to load, they're rather high quality :-$) Well, your pictures´re pretty good, but it´s not the quality of them that makes up the long loading time, it´s the sheer size of them. X-D Although I like to look at some bigger pics from time to time, it´s more useful for pictures which´re offering an overview and not for detail shots. 3072x2304 pixels for every pic´s simply too large to upload to BS, and the automatic resizing feature of BS just takes its time.... usually, something around 800x600 works good enough, or perhaps even something like 1280x1024 if you believe in the proper increasing of internet data transfer speed, bigger sizes´re better used only for a few and special pictures to allow a closer inspection. *sweet* Quote
cartoondude Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Awesome moc!! I just got mine(get it) in the mail 3 hours ago. A week ago i got dwarves mine defender and troll battle wagon, they look really nice together. Your moc has a better mine feel then the official set. Nice, i like! X-D Quote
BlueBard Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Nice MOC! ;-) The guy "rafting" in the waterfall is very funny, and the interior of the mine is well done too, but if I could made one criticism I think that the "tall" figures working in the mine doesn't go well with the dwarves. Or maybe are they their slaves? Quote
Duke Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Thanks for the comments everyone, i'll bear in the mind the picture resizing for future posts. The idea is that the townspeople have been enslaved by the dwarves, hence the dwarf with the whip :-) Quote
