Were there leaks about GWPs in past releases? How early did we have those leaks in past years?

And perhaps Lego has tightened the lid on leaks with the LOTR theme after the video leak. Have they purged the LAN leaker?

Well folks, I am so so so happy with Minas Tirith!! Near perfect set to be honest. The figure count could be higher and I have some nitpicks about the figures (if an Andúril mold isn’t included it will be a huge miss), but overall I’m quite pleased with them. King Aragorn will be figure of the year easily. The build itself is incredible!! The exterior is absolutely amazing, I’m so happy they included all seven levels at a mostly accurate scale and proportion, and the minifig interior spaces are amazing. It’s a pity we don’t see the Houses of Healing in the video, but it’s something to look forward to! Day one purchase for certain

when do we expect to hear more (potential gwp?). etc.  Curious what everyone's thoughts are.  

This is a must buy for me, it will be day one with a gwp or 2XVIP points, or I will wait till 2XVIP points on it, either way.

Smeagol and Deagol leaked March 7th, 2025 which was released on April 2nd. So a month in advance.

Therefore May is the best bet since Minas Tirith doesn't release till June.

Leaks don't follow preset rules though. People leak when they can, not according to a schedule.

But they follow patterns because when people can leak information is not totally random. D2C sets is harder, but a lot of the retail sets leak because the information was shared with retailers who have less care about keeping those things secret. They get that information on a regular basis from Lego in advance of set releases.

Sure the Minas Tirith leak happened early because of a mistake, so something could happen with the GWP, but most GWPs leak about a month before release. Another example besides Smeagol and Deagol was HP's GWP 40770 which leaked on August 7th before a September 1st release. Yet the SW May the 4th GWP leaked a few months ago.

I hope we hear something soon. I'll need to figure out what to budget for the rest of the year. If the GWP is strong, it will be very difficult to avoid this day one.

Agreed, would also like the official costs, heard $650 (cannot imagine Lego doing $600) hoping it sticks there.

Just built the Sauron helmet.  Looks awesome, it was my first helmet build and so I was impressed (but have not built other helmets).  Having another Sauron minifigure is nice too and the inclusion makes the set fee worth it.  Fun build and looks cool.

hope they do some more of these helmets with minifigure combos forLOTR.

It's ironic that your name is lord Helmet and yet this is your first helmet build.  lol.  I will be getting the Sauron helm this year at some point.

A brief update. Not surprising, but the price for Sauron has dropped significantly. The worldwide average for March is now sitting at about £30 and the minimum prices are not much below that, so 60% of what he was in January and 55% of the set price. 

Two sold since January in the UK, for £50, and the lowest price is currently £40 so about 60% of the set price. Even at this "low" price, he is not selling. As other stores are selling the helmet set, I imagine it will be discounted at some stage so I expect his price to drop further. It is crazy really, he has only sold six times in the UK in the past six months on BL, a clear indication of being overpriced. Gothmog has been sold 15 times in the same period. 

There are 14 UK sellers with him on BL. 10 of them are charging a price equal to that of the new set price or more. Some sellers are either very slow to find out about new releases, or just have no clue about what the market is doing.
