Builder 05 Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 (edited) Hello everyone! New member here! This is my first ship MOC and I am quite happy with the way it turned out. It's one-masted french sloop that can carry 10 cannons and 4 swivel guns. Lemme know what you think. Edited August 21, 2018 by Builder 05 Quote
Captain Becker Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 This is a great looking vessel, especially that cannon desing is very clever! For your first ship, this is looking like a promising start of a great looking fleet. Sincely yours: Captain Charles J. Becker Quote

Darnok Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Nice ship, with some very good ideas! I needed a moment to understand what parts were used, but that cannon design is very clever! The overall shape of the sloop is well done, as is the custom rigging. I just bookmarked this thread for later study - I am sure I will copy some of your ideas. Quote

Tezclatipoca Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 That's a nice vessel for a first one ! Plus it's a french one ! Good hull technique using the hinges (Myself, used it and like it ); the ship can have a good sleek aspect which is quite well done at this scale. And you've made a good rigging too ! Congrats ! Just a little remark : Try to make your pictures using a background; we just see too much your plank floor, which distracts the view on the subject. But otherwise, it's a really very good first ship ! Keep up the good job ! Quote

Cousarmy0001 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I like it! Small, and decently detailed. I think Kurigan would be proud. Quote

Roadmonkeytj Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 @Builder 05 I like this one. The colors are pleasing the shape is nice and the rigging looks right. The deck clutter and the "uniformed" sailors is a nice detail as well. How is that click joint on the spanker holding up to the stress of rigging? 10 hours ago, kurigan said: Indeed... Good to see you still lurking mate! Quote

There is a lot of great details on this ship. The rigging is well done. What material did you use to make the sails? I recommend having the main mast 1 stud diameter instead of 2. Thank you for sharing. Quote
