Beautiful :'-) Remindes me of this one older movie where huge worms like that pop out of the ground all over and well, do what large tooth bearing worms do. Also of dune for sure (well, you based this on it, so it should!)

It's great *sweet*

I am curious though. What took longer: The landscaping, or the worm it'self that the diorama is based around? :-D

I just finally commented on your goblin attack MOC. I won't wait so long to comment on this one. It's awesome! *sweet* As always, I love the landscaping, although I always do cringe at what that amount of tan (or in other cases, green, grey, brown, etc) could make in the way of a city modular MOC or a castle, etc...But it's put to great use regardless. I wish I had your skill with landscaping. What is great about this is the level of "organic" you reached for the sand worm. It's really hard, IMO, to make something look like a unique creature with the limits of LEGO bricks. But this sand worm is awesome! Excellent work, as always. Keep it up please! X-D Can't wait to see more.

What a way to make an introductory post... :P

I am guessing you're thinking about Tremors?

And just so this is on topic, I would guess that the landscaping took most time.

Actually, the landscaping goes pretty fast these days. I've developed a pretty good workflow for landforms. The thing that took the longest was trying to find a good way to make a worm with a three pronged mouth. Two or four is easy but three took some thinking.

Hinckley, you should check out hachi's Brickshelf folder. I always go there for landscape inspiration.

Holy cow that's a lot of tan bricks. And a very nicely realised sandworm, complete with a segmented body. This MOC is a real treat for those of us who remember Frank Herbert's epic saga.

Great job, RebelRock *y*

I'm always impressed by your skills at depicting scenes with bricks!

I *wub* the Dune series, and the way it was a source of inspiration for most of the jedi powers and abilities (Lucas said so himself :-$ ).

Just one thing, though. Is this a small Shai Hulud or is it one of the last on Arrakis (like in the 4th & 5th books)? You know, the ones described in the first book were something like 200-400 meters in diameter and 500+ in lenght... [Ok, forget it, that would be impossible to build in minifig scale ;-) ].

Dune ON!

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration ..."

WOW! That is really cool. You really nailed the look of the worms and the Fremen. Great stuff.

*y* It looks a bit like the Sarlac? :-D

These Fremen have summoned a baby worm.

Unfortunately I read this with an nch in there! X-D
