Morgan19 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 (edited) Hi everyone! I'm pleased to announce a new steampunk contest being hosted by Mike over at BuySteampunk.com. Here is a snippet; full details of the contest can be found at the link below: You’ve seen his work on BoingBoing, you’ve seen it on The Brother’s Brick, and even on Brass Goggles. Now you can win your very own custom-made “Kreigerhund” LEGO steampunk mecha direct from [Morgan19] himself....we are challenging all you artists out there to submit a single piece of art based off of [the Dardenbahst and Kriegerhund]. After the submission period is over, I’ll post all of the submissions in a follow-up post with voting functionality and allow all of you to decide who should win the model. In addition, Jamie himself will be picking his favorite entry and the creator of that will receive a custom steampunk minifig! So you take one or both of my steampunk models and turn them into some snazzy 2D artwork: it can be cartoony or artsy-fartsy, still LEGOified or a vision of how the machines might look as real contraptions, whatever– the sky's the limit! The first-place by public voting will win a FREE Kriegerhund model; a secod-place winner of my choosing will also win a customized steampunk minifig. Note that this contest is open to anyone in the world. Click here for full contest details at BuySteampunk.com. The information on that page covers exactly what the contest is about, images of the prizes, how to enter, and just about anything else you need to know for it. Asuka Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 An interesting competition.... and a great price awaits the winner for sure.... :'-) Quote
Dragonator Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 That sounds like an awesome competition! Unfortunately I have no previous experience in making steampunk, although I have seen oters make some fantastic MOCs. Perhaps I should give it a go... Quote
Morgan19 Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 For anyone interested in the contest, make sure you read the description carefully: you're not making actual LEGO, you're making artwork based on the two MOCs for a chance to win the steampunk model. Just so that's clear. :) m19 Quote

I believe you only have to draw it, so no building is required. :-) I might try and have a go, if I can find the time. Quote

Oh dear, I don't think I'm much good at that... :-$ I may still give it a go though, the prize is beckoning to me, and the competition sounds fun! *sweet* Quote

zouave Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Is there a pic of the customized steampunk fig? I'm more interested in it than the model. Quote

I don't mean to be blunt but I put the "CLICK HERE" link in the first post for a reason. Follow it to the main contest page and you'll find all the information you need. (And yes, there's an image of the figure on that page.) m19 Edited March 22, 2008 by Morgan19 Quote
