Lego Legends + the Yellow Castle

Hi! I'm new here so sorry if this isn't in the right area or is an old beat to death topic!

1.)Whatever happened to the Legends Line? Is it dead and why?

2.) Will we ever see the Yellow Castle again? Has anyone just gotten the instructions off Peeron and the bricks off Bricklink and built it themselves? Would that be really expensive to do? Thanks!

To answer 2 first. Plenty of people have done just that because we will never see the yellow castle again.

The bricks are inexpensive. Heck you can even buy repro stickers fairly easily.

The mini-figs. Those are expensive, especially the visors which were fragile and thus go for a premium. And they are also why we'll never see it as a Legend (if they were still doing them) without that piece being replaced with a more modern visor.

As for 1, I think we had official word that legends was dead. Now, there are great new Factory sets coming out that help sooth that hurt but we'll never get those yellow castle, Blacktron, or Classic Space legends we all yearn for deep in our souls. Yes, even young kids yearn for them but they don't even realize it so they grow up with an unidentified longing. Thats why so many of them turn to drugs. Blame Lego.

You will find some good info about the Legends line in this post. It does not look like TLC is still pursuing it.

Well it has been talked to death, but here are my thoughts nonetheless.

The yellow castle has never really done it for me. I got into Castle (and Lego in general) just as the grey castle was being introduced, so I've got no nostalgia for the yellow. I also think yellow is a pretty silly color for a castle and the stickers on the parts are a real turn-off to me.

That being said, I would like the get some of the old knight's visors, but a re-release probably wouldn't include them, so I don't see much appeal in such a Legend.

Thanks for finding the thread for me. I kind of figured it for dead, but it was interesting to read thru and hear the different opinions!
