For those interested using an onboard cam in their models.

Today I picked up this from the post office;

Afb4105.jpg

It's called a SQ12 and is sold from China wholesaler Alieexpress for 15,- euros

It is offered as a HD cam but the CCD chip is only 720p it will record in 1080p but the only result is the files will be bigger, no extra detail.

It can house a micro SD card with a max of 32GB, has internal battery and charges over USB.

Cool thing is, it has perfect Lego 3L x 3L fit, it really sits nice and snug with the rubbery exterior, no mods needed.

Just a cool gimmick I wanted to share with you !

(weight is only 18 grams)

That's very useful if you want to build a camera into a MOC, I'm interested in seeing the quality of the video though, as I normally woudn't expect such a cheap (and tiny!) camera to be very good...

Cool. I got one too with the Gearbest dollars I got from buying a 3D printer kit.  Its video seem to look ok with good light on the YouTube reviews of the camera.  It fits on and in trains too using system pieces.

Interesting solution.

For those looking for even smaller, I have purchased this on Amazon:

29133579_10160321533660457_8826714665854

Which is an endoscopy camera, includes 6 front leds for illumination, and allows transmitting the video through Wifi (battery is Embedded Inside the small black box.

this one is 5 meters long, but I guess there should be shorter cables

22 euros for this.
