bonox Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Barman drags his masterpiece out.... "here's one we prepared earlier" with the lift the cam part provides, it's going to be a big model! There are plenty of working twin cam per head models about. Example: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5880/NikolayZubov/instruction-v-8-engine-32-valve-lego-technic/#comments Quote

Cumulonimbus Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 A model of a "functioning" engine block and corresponding gearbox was on my MOC to do list for years and I have made a couple of mock-ups and rough models. There were a couple of problems I couldn't find a good solution for: The size of the cylinders and modeling the combustion chambers using Technic bricks, using standard springs for closing the valves, keeping friction low enough, etc. In the end, I abandoned the project and opted for a 3D-printed model (not my design): Which can be found on Thingiverse.
