x105Black Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Well, that Falcon is pretty awesome. Quote
Faefrost Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 I can't fault the Robot or the Falcon, but BB-8 seems an odd choice? Quote

I'll admit it is not the best set from LEGO, but I think it refer to the 2017. What you would have taken insteat? Personally it the only set of the 3 that I have....so maybe I'm not biased.... :-) Quote

icm Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 The UCS MF won the "Specialty Toy" category instead of the "Construction Toy" category because an $800 display model is a specialty item that isn't very good for play. It's a "specialty toy" in the same way that ridiculously expensive action figures from Hot Toys are "specialty toys": silly items with no practical use whose potential customer base is severely restricted by the high price tag. Sure, those are action figures, but you wouldn't award any of them an "action figure toy of the year" award because they're too expensive for the general market. Quote

It just seems that Star Wars gets a lot of the highlights because it's well known. Quote
