Juxtapoisson Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 I'm new. I'm middle aged, still have my legos from child hood. My wife and I have been married for 10 years, and have only recently decided to mix our legos. We've bought a fair amount recently for some hobby projects. I live in the US, in the state of Washington, but in the desert part that no one knows about. I really find I like all the legos. Even themes I don't care about (e.g. super heroes) I can still get excited about the legoness. But I am classically most fond of the castle sets. I enjoy some amount of ninja variety, but am ready to get back to castle. I have a love of Sci Fi. So, while the space sets are rarely interesting to me (because of what they are doing) there is so much there to build the sci fi kind of worlds I imagine that the space sets have a special place in my heart. Littleworlds Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Welcome to Eurobricks! I am a bit of an allrounder too and often buy sets simply from their visual appeal and not for a certain theme. When it comes to legoness - I think I know what you mean: Lego is just irresistably cute and playful, isn't it? Quote
deraven Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Welcome to EB, Juxtapoisson! I also really like castle and scifi/space. I have no problem mixing them in my MOCs- no reason my minifigs can't enjoy classic castle architecture but be highly technologically advanced as well. Happy building! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Welcome aboard, Juxtapoisson. There is a desert in Washington state? Quote

It's dry scrub-land, irrigated from the large rivers. But I am from New Hampshire, so it's all desert to me. WA has a reputation for being super rainy. But that's only West of the Cascades (e.g. the coast). The Cascades form a rain shadow across the rest of the state and it's really dry. This is an oversimplification of course. Quote
