Since this is a WIP thread, i won't go in the lore.

So yeah basically a massive starship.

Does anybody know how to fit a turret inside the 5x7 frame?
Or what kind of turret to make that can tilt at least sideways.
Only criteria is that the turret will have one of those little clutch pieces as the weapon.

I'm not sure which route to pick but i have two options:

Option A:
-Make three turrets at the bottom of the ship as orbital bombardment cannons.
-Have a command center at the top of the ship.

Option B:
-Make two turrets at both sides by tilting the ship sideways and keeping it symmetrical. (4 side turrets total.)
-Figure another place for the command center.

Both are equally valid options. I simply can't choose.

Engines are finished. (Might revisit that green ball thing if i find more of those 0,33 x 2 plates.)

It looks good so far. Good job :)

I think it would look better with the turrets at the sides, as I think it would look too narrow with the turrets at the bottom.

Also, how big do you want your turret to be? If you are making a small turret you could easily fit it in a 5x7. A large turret could be difficult to fit. If you want the turret to be controllable left/right or up/down, then you would have to make the turret small as you need to fit mechanisms (e.g. links) in there that control the turret.

The turret will be controlled by simply grabbing it and maneuvering it. If the turret can point up down left right, it would be amazing. But i'm fine with only two directions..
I just can't figure out what kind of mechanism to use. The turret will be attached inside the 5x7 frame and stick out.

I think you have a good point about the side turrets. I agree, it's quite narrow.
I'll have to go with plan B and attach four turrets and probably shield generators at the sides.

If anybody can throw out a simple turret design inside the 5x7 frame, i'd appreciate it a great deal.

If you want it to just move up and down or left and right, a pin with friction would be enough. You can also use a bionicle ball joint if you want it to go both directions - the star wars buildable figure sets have plenty of them.

Looks great so far! Good job!

I like the attachment you used for attaching the turrets. Reminds me of how I attach Portal axle hubs to an off road chassis
