A new coal using metal foundry for Mesabi Landing!

A load of coal just got unloaded and is being put into the furnace.

A cutaway of the inside showing the process of melting the raw metal ores and forming the metal ingots.

C&C are welcome as usual and thanks  for viewing!

Very nice indeed! The building is well constructed, and has some neat details. I love the wagon (just be aware that those horses might have a short lifespan around the WTC Marines...). Showing the work process in the inside is a great addition.

My only suggestion for future builds in Mesabi Landing: less vegetation, and no green baseplates. The whole island is dry land, so green grass and flowers look a bit out of place.

Thanks! Yeah, with the new glue factory in town they'll probably only last about a week!

Ok, I'll definitely make sure to keep the vegetation and green grass to a minimum on future builds in Mesabi Landing. Thanks for the feedback!

I love your colour palette.  It represents sombre but actually quite lively.  The build is great overall, but a couple things confused me.

1. Is that a bench under the door side window?  I can't make out what it is supposed to be.

2. You went to a lot of trouble detailing the exterior ground but you did not tile the interior floors?  Was that a design choice or an LDD restriction maybe?

Really, really good work. I would like to see some larger images, but I only say this because I'd love to explore this great scene even more.

Thank you! If you click on them it will take you to my flickr page and make them larger.

1. Nope. That was supposed to be a short railing under the window. Admittedly, it probably wasn't the best design choice that I ever did.

2. I'll be honest, I didn't really think to tile the floors... No restriction to LDD or anything like that. It probably would have brought it up another notch.

Thanks for the fed back!

The glue factory is in Arlinsport.

The WTC has a rather... liberal approach to meat consumption though. @Mesabi can surely educate you on the matter. :pir-grin:

Oh yeah, you're right. I vaguely remember something about a debate between Mesabi and someone else about the benefits of horse meat vs. pork though... can't remember which thread...

Fantastic build man! Very nice exterior, and interior, and it's a great addition to the settlement. I agree with @Drunknok that you should use tan baseplates to match the aesthetic of the island, but that's a minor critique. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Yes, from now on I'll stick to tan base plates for anything I build in Mesabi Landing.
