M_longer Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Mack bought, built and.. boring? How about making a new trailer for it? Let's say that I was bored and decided to rebuild 42078 into something different. But after disassembling the trailer, I thought that it could be rebuild into different trailer. The trailer has only one function, landing gear. Operated by levers on either side of the trailer: Being built from limited amount of parts, it has one flaw - can be driven only on flat surfaces, due to minimum spacing between its frame and truck's rear: You have been warned :P And if some would like to build it, here are free instructions: https://bricksafe.com/files/M_longer/42078-alt/flatbed/42078-Flatbed.pdf (Mack model made by Philo) Sample pages: After approval by Rebrickable, it will be available with parts list here:https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-12680/M_longer/42078-flatbed-trailer/ Quote

ludov Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 That looks really good! Effective use of all the panels. Aside from the linear actuators, how many parts are left from the original trailer? And I don't think the limited space between truck and trailer is a flaw: it looks proportional to what I observe on real trucks. Quote

Paul B Technic Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 That is a really nice idea, good work. Quote
Pentomind Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Really nice, despite the lack of functions ! I was thinking of something like this since I first saw the set. Thank you for taking time to make free instructions too. :-) Do you think it would be possible to add a folding loading ramp at the back with the leftover parts ? It would be nice to be able to lad a vehicle on it. ^^ Something like this : Quote
andythenorth Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 How about an end-dump or side-dump? Using the linear actuators Quote
WvG_853 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I was planning to rebuild the 42078, but I will this time build it with your trailer. Thanks for the instructions! Quote
5CH4CHT3L Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Well done! Nice touch to use only included Parts Quote
