I need help with sculpey. I recently bought some super-sculpey and everytime I go to bake it the head gets too small (i work on the head) to put it on some I have to shave down the head. Do I leave the head on the body and bake it or what?

Dont bake it while it is on a piece. Get a plastic cup fill it with water and put it in the microwave until it gets very very hot. Then put your piece in the water take like a toothpick and occasionally tap the scupley and when it becomes hard take the piece out. That is what I do.

Don't bake it on the fig. Otherwise it'll stick to the fig and then when you go to take it off, it'll break. Trust me. :-D

Are you baking it at the right tempature. Maybe if it's too hot it'll shrink?

I wouldn't even bother with sculpey, i prefer to use Green Stuff. It's easy to use and dosen't need to be baked, a few hours in room temp and it's soild but flexable too.

You can buy it at hobby stores (and games workshop stores offcourse) I don't think you can buy it at toystores. I don't exactly know how toxic, but I heard from a friend of mine who uses it, that after a whille your fingertips will feel it. You need to take pauses and wash you hands... I

I still recomend Super sculpey, even if you had some problems with it. I think for the same price you have ten times more. It's just very expensive. When you want to make something big it will cost really a lot.

Do you know the avarage price of the Green Stuff?

Difficult to explain in english.

I think your fingertips will feel like you've taken a bath to long, or like the guy who crashed the huge toxic barrel in Robocop.

From what I remeber, a small portion (half the size of an audio casette) of green stuff cost about 15

Well i have been using it for a long time, and i can tell you it makes your hands feel no different than when you use any modeling clay etc.

The feeling is just from dealing with a sticky molding putty, as for price i just picked up 5 lots for a mere
