RebelRock Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 (edited) I've never done any post-apoc stuff before. I'm not sure if I really think of this as being in that genre but whatever. I just wanted a chance to jump on the black fantasy bandwagon and help exhaust the theme. :P I suppose it's B.F. meets that goofy movie Tremors. ...and of course a bikini clad badass mammajamma. Hinckley Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I like it but did you mean to name it after poop? Your main character is awesome. I always love your landscaping and the monsters rock. I'm embarrassed to admit that Tremors is one of my favorite movies. :-$ Quote
RebelRock Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 I like it but did you mean to name it after poop? Yeah, you know: a cross between diorama and diarrhea. Just goofing around. *wacko* Quote
Hinckley Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Yeah, you know: a cross between diorama and diarrhea. Just goofing around. *wacko* :-D I thought it might be an unfortunate misspelling, but that'd have to be a pretty big distraction to mix up those two words. Your diorama is too solid to be diarrhea. *wacko* Quote
Batbrick Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 You sir are a GOD! :'-) You may or probably may not have noticed, but I am an obsessor over Post-Apoc and you have done it much justice. The detailing is immense, I particularly love the shorn off corner of road, very well sculpted. I'm not sure on the power lines though, they looks good, but a bit too weak I think. Nice use of those electric pieces though. The black fantasy creature looks great too, I always though the simpler the look the more terrifying, and this is great. The tentacles reaching out of the ground not unlike a certain B monster flick ( ;-) ) I love especially, how do you conceal the larger tentacle pice into the ground like that if you don't mind me asking? I can never figure out a way as good as this *y* The main character is awesome as Hinckley stated, exciting mid air pose there and perfect choice of the Catwoman face. Overall a stunning job worthy of the greatest Yet-to-be-a-Lego-Line theme: post-apoc. Your main character is awesome. I always love your landscaping and the monsters rock. I'm embarrassed to admit that Tremors is one of my favorite movies. :-$ Don't be embarrassed Hinckley, Tremors is great, its the greatest recent B movie franchise of recent X-D To the Bricksignal! >:-) Quote
Hinckley Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Don't be embarrassed Hinckley, Tremors is great, its the greatest recent B movie franchise of recent X-D Well, the first one is awesome, the follow-up projects can only be described with one word: craptastic! :-X Quote
Batbrick Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Well, the first one is awesome, the follow-up projects can only be described with one word: craptastic! :-X Okay, last comment, I don't want to detract from RebelRock's fantastic diorrhea :-D Anyway, the craptastic sequels are what make it the best though, its such a show of all franchises it makes me laugh, that even a B-movie like tremors could follow in the footsteps of the Jaws franchise or whatnot. BTW, RebelRock, just curious, how long did it take you to make this? And what inspired you to suddenly enter the glorious world of Post-apoc? To the Bricksignal! >:-) Quote
RebelRock Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 I started building this around 3PM today and spent a few hours on it. Then I went for Thai food and came back, finished it up and took pictures. I wouldn't say I've completely entered post-apoc yet. Just dabbling. Quote

Oh you will enter, oh yes you will my friend *skull* Oh Woops, another comment! Thanks for answering RebelRock, fantastic work, you get these things built very quickly *y* To the Bricksignal! >:-) Quote
iamded Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Fantastic! This whole sideways-building technique works wonders, makes the road look really wicked cool where it breaks off and splits up and what not. And the ground falling down into the waters and the crater where the Black Fantasy creature's bursting from the ground. And the electricity blasting form the power lines. It's wonderful! I love it all! Great job, RebelRock! *y* *y* :'-) ~Peace Quote
hoang Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 so far all the relate apocalypse moc i've seen are awesome, this one yet simple but still very impressive Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Talking of Tremors, if anyone felt a small tremor in the south of England a few minutes ago that was my jaw hitting the floor when I saw these pictures. Outstanding! :'-) Dr. S. Quote
zero1312 Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 *wub* Apocalyptical beautiful. *wub* Quote
Sir Dillon Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I don't think this is quite as good as your castle works, but it's still very neat. I really like your style of landscaping, and the way all the brown slopes contrasts with the tan looks great. The mixture of plates and slopes gives the sand a neat looking texture, and broken off road is especially cool. I also like the use of dark blue for the water, giving it a more murky feel. The various wedge pieces in the road are neat, but on the whole the road still looks too clean to me. I would suggest mottling it some, to give it a more weathered feel. Mixing in some old dark grey might look pretty good... As usual for your creations, the action in the scene is nice. You've done a great job suspending the motorcycle in mid-air, and all the tentacles coming out of the ground are cool. Are the tentacles supposed to be multiple monsters, or all part of one large one? (I can't really tell from the picture, and the gallery isn't public yet.) Since they're so close to the edge of the sand, it might also look good to have a few tentacles sticking out of the brown area. What is the purpose of that little black mechanical thing in the bottom left corner? Quote
Plural Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 This is a completely new kind of awesome! Good job! *y* Quote
ExoBuilder Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 This has to be one of my favorite Post Apoc creations I've seen so far. Noone else has dared to use a chick for the hero. Not to mention she's hot *wub* You did a great job on this *y* *y* *sweet* Quote
Asuka Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 The expression of that work with its exquisite color scheme reminds me of a very fine painting. 8-| Brilliant. Brilliant conception, brilliant land- (and street-) scaping, brilliant special effects (electricity, how neat :-P ). Brilliant everything. But next time try to do something less good, please. I simply can Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Yeah, you know: a cross between diorama and diarrhea. Just goofing around. *wacko* Just what I thought when I read it the first time :-D The MOC is excellent *wub* , with a lot of beautiful techniques used... It reminds me of Cthulhu somehow.. :-D Good work! Keep it up! *y* Your diorama is too solid to be diarrhea. *wacko* :-P Quote
Medievalego Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I really like this. It looks amazing. And yes, as others have already said, some very nice details. ~ R ~ Quote
