I'm at the stage with my project car where I'm starting to design the bodywork. I have 4 of the newer fender panels, specifically this part:

24118 : Technic, Panel Car Mudguard Arched 15 x 2 x 5 (Orange)

I really want to use these new panels as they strongly resemble real world car fenders, but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to design around these parts, especially with the few attachment points.

Why not have a look at the instructions of 42056? - the set that these panels are from.

I've seen that the panels are just mirrored for the front, to create the iconic rounded light sockets. However, I'd love to use these for my own creations, but seeing that only 2 sets so far use them (the Rally Car set has 1 in dark azure, but it's used as a bad excuse for a spoiler mount), there's not a lot to go on.

Here are the side panels of a truck I made using the Porsche fenders. I had a hard time with them as well. The limited connection points as well as the shape make it difficult to integrate into a smooth line.. The good thing about them is that they are good for fenders that flare out slightly from the sides, like in a trophy truck.

For comparison, here is what the truck looks like.

If you want more pictures of the mount points for the fenders, let me know, I still have this assembled.

I believe set 42069 has 4 of them also, in a lovely shade of purple.
