Johnny1360 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) Hello all, John here in Indy. After 45 years of darkness, I am back into Lego. It started as therapy about 18 months ago, for an ongoing condition, now building and collecting Lego has become a full blown addiction. Way back in 1973 as a wee lad, I played with my Lego collection almost daily. Back then for me it was mostly bricks in 3 or 4 colors with a few wheels, gears and windows thrown in for good measure. With close to 1000 elements I thought I was king Lego. Then in 1974 we got new neighbors and my mom made me go over and play with Bob. The new neighbors son, my age. Could not wait since my mom said he also had Lego. Well as it turned out this guy just moved from Germany and had every Lego set made, didn't even know such things existed. Turns out his grandpa was some bigshot with Lego. I mean he had it all planes, trains, trucks, cars and even a rocket. A complete city with roads and buildings even, the train operated by just blowing a whistle too. It made my collection look like a box of rocks, so I never could enjoy them again, ending up giving them to another kid. Fast forward 45 years started my "therapy" with 75105, was immediately awed by how far Lego and come yet how much it was the same. So now I am building my collection and again rarely a day goes by I don't build something. Edited January 4, 2018 by Johnny1360 Changed a sentence so now it makes sense Quote
