Need some advice on building a moc

Hey everyone, I am new here and I am happy to be part of the crew here!

I am currently building a massive moc of a droid vs clone invasion. The only problem I am running into is building the base. I found I am terrible, at building roofs and second levels on to the base. I just cant quite get down how to make a second floor flow into the structure of the base. Mine look awkward and boring. Any advice? I do understand this question is kinda vague.

Also my other question totally unrelated for the battlefield would you suggest an AT-TE or the drop ship set they came out with a couple of years ago?

Your project sounds interesting, but to really being able to say more I need to see pictures what you got so far and, if posssible, of the inspiration you are building it after.

I have no experience with this what so ever. Try watching some of Solid Brick Studios videos he builds a lot of bases, that might help with some insight. Especially his Kashyk builds.  Good Luck!
