Wes Gill Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 A short section of a street layout built for a children's "learning with LEGO" exhibition. Regards Wes Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 What is that crossing part in the middle of the road? Just a waiting area until cars get by so people can cross? I haven't seen those before. As for the LEGO part of it, looks interesting. A bit more detailing could work for the ground terrain/water, but looks good overall. Very active. Quote

We have those here in New Zealand, essentially so they done have to stop two lanes of traffic - you have one pedestrian part where it allows people to cross, you stop in the middle and press the next one and wait for the next time it allows you to cross so the traffic at the lights doesn't have to stop for both sides (as below) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Interesting. I'm from a much smaller area I'm assuming, so I haven't witnessed these. But thanks for the graphic and information! Learning something new every day. Quote

Any major thoroughfare or crossing near schools, hospitals etc, have them installed. Its a way of giving extra protection to pedestrians while crossing. regards Wes Quote
Still Raindrop Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 This is great! It reminds me of the background cities that Lego would put in their advertisements (I'm not sure if they still do this--I haven't paid as much attention--but when my Dark Age ended a decade ago, I was always impressed with those backgrounds). I like the clean look that you've given the buildings; it makes them all fit together very well. Quote
