I hope not! I don't want The Simpsons to go to Mega Construx just like Futurama. Maybe if, and only if, Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox Movies and TV happens, we might see more LEGO The Simpsons! Disney is great business partners with The LEGO Group nowadays.

Yea! I know right, maybe its not on the US lego web, but the UK's is a sure thing they are going. Unless new sets are coming? If they are gone, I feel very sad for lego again coz its another great theme after all. :wacko:

Hi,

Just curious but I see all of the simpsons line are going 'retiring soon' while the house is already retired. Is this the end of the Simpsons line?

Yeah, the Simpsons theme is dead. I can only see it return if they make a second Simpsons Movie, but that won't happen anytime soon.

Rats! A LEGO The Simpsons standalone video game would've suited me.

I wish we could have had one more year (D2C plus CMF). But alas, was not meant to be. I think the choices for the minifigs in Series 2 may have led to it's decline. Plus the next year we got the Disney series and Castle D2C, which I assumed was the Simpsons replacement. (Weird there wasn't new Disney for 2017 though...I'm still hoping for a Disney S2.)

Personally, I believe another factor in cancellation was the decision to do molded heads. No doubt it was crazy expensive to do a new mold for every single character.

Guys, there may be hope. I heard Disney is about to acquire 21st Century Fox, which includes Fox's Marvel Comics properties, the original Star Wars Episode IV film, and The Simpsons! Since LEGO is already partners with Disney, we could hopefully get more LEGO The Simpsons sets and more!

They had the Simpsons license already, I doubt that would change anything. And I have a feeling Disney wouldn't be as proud of having Simpsons as Fox was, so there might even be less of a chance.

That's very interesting. I'm not sure it would mean anything for the simpsons, but it surely does for Marvel (*cough* lego fantastic 4 *cough*) fingers crossed.

What I'm trying to say is Disney's acquisition of Fox may revitalize LEGO The Simpsons if Disney is interested.

I don't know it was even all that popular to be honest. I mean, I'm sure it did sell a lot, but I don't think it was successful enough to go further with it or I'm sure they'd have done something about that. I saw the cmf's on shelves absolutely ages after they had stopped them.

It's been gone since Brick Friday (in the US, at least) which is a long time for a set to be out of stock and then come back (excepting the UCS Falcon, of course).

Well, since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox will be effective sometime during 2019, we might as well wait and see what’s new for LEGO next year!
