ZoL Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) Okay, This set is old I know- so don't come in here and tell me that, but if at a good price you should buy it. Name: Imperial Landing Craft Price: US $49.99 Peices: 471 Mini-figs: 5 Mini-figs: Well, there is two sand troopers, 2 stormtroopers, and a tie pilot. The storm/sand troopers have gray mouths? Well other then that they are the same as the old ones. Build: A fairly easy build, I built it in 1/2 hour to a hour, but has some interesting parts to it, but seems to stick with the normal steps. Ship: The ship has a flimsy way to conect the pilot cabin to the main aria, so it oftain falls off the crew compartment, the crew compartment is crampt and small, but has some good details around the back. The engine area is nicly detail, and looks realistic while being sturdy. As for the wings, they are basicly the same as the Imp. suttle's. Scoring: Design: 6/10 Peices: 5/10 Price: 5/10 figs: 3/10 idea: 5/10 Total: 24/50: pretty good Final notes: A decent set if you want to spend the money, but don't get it if you can get other things for a better price. aayla-secura Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 No pic review .... :'-( But the ILC dont deserve's your grad 21/50 loL ... it isnt such bad... |-/ Quote
SWMAN Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Wow, another harsh review. I personally really like the way this set looks, and from what I have read it is really cool. I don't personally own it, but I still really like the way it looks. 5 figures for 50 dollars isn't that bad I don't think. Some sets that expensive only have 4. Plus, this set has 4 stormies, which is great for building armies. What you are really paying for in any set is the actual vehicle, so you can't really be judgmental by how many figs it has. Also, I don't understand your criticism for pieces. No set is going to have all really cool rare pieces. Most are going to have your basic pieces. Also, I really like the idea behind it. Lego is really branching out, giving us sets that may have only been seen for a few seconds, such as this set. I really like the idea of having a set that you can use not only to move your troops around with, but also to shoot rebels with. Finally, I think you are being a little judgmental about the compartment size. If you look at any set, the insides are small. The Millenium Falcon, Star Destroyer, Sail Barge, old Gunship and AT-TE, just to name a few. Lego wants to give people the coolest outside possible, which means sacrificing interior. Overall, I think this was a really cool set. Quote
Led ZePPelin Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The set didn't come with grey mouth stormies either, just (previously) standard ones with a black mouth. Quote
natelite Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 i think it is somewhat appropriate given the price. it's a pretty expensive set for not a whole lot more. in the past that's the only way to get stormtroopers but with the ST mf pack at $10, why would you plunk $50 of your money for the same no of mfs? doesn't make sense. the model isn't really that great to begin with. gimme the imperial shuttle! :-P p.s. imperial shuttle came with 10 mfs. ILC came with just 4. *wacko* Quote

ZoL Posted February 21, 2008 Author Posted February 21, 2008 I am a perfectionest, as I said if you look next to it, I said it was good. a 10 or lower is pretty bad and a 15 would be okay, atleast for me. Led Zeppalin: Mine did come with gray mouth stormies, I wonder why? Quote
THE-FORCE Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) This set is great! It's a great ship! I would give it: 48/50! But taste is different on everybody. Edited February 21, 2008 by THE-FORCE Quote

Mofo Jones Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I bought the ILC on clearance last fall. Apparently somebody at the local Wal-Mart screwed up so it was half price a few months after it came out. I'm not sure if I would have purchased this at $50 but it was a must-buy at $25. I like most of the set - the cockpit comes off too easily and I need to pick up a few white 1x4 tiles to finish the wing section. I think it looks unfinished with the exposed structure and gears. VBBN Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Alright review, but some more detail would be nice... ;-) I didn't get this set. To bulky. :-/ I was just looking at theis sets instructions on Brickfactory. Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) Design: 6/10Peices: 5/10 Price: 5/10 figs: 3/10 idea: 5/10 WHy such a low score for the minifigs? You get a total of 5 cool minifigs with 4 weapons, anyway that's the maximum you can fit inside the landing craft, so I would say 9/10 for the minifigs. This set is a bit difficult to build. It has many parts, cool mechanisms and really takes time (it took me 3 hours 30 minutes!). But that's a good thing, isn't that what LEGO is all about? *thumbup* Those missiles are very powerfull and the bombs are a nice touch too. That's why I would give it 8/10 for design and 8/10 for the idea. *wub* I know, it's a matter of taste. *wink* PS: my stormies are with black mouths, not gray as yours. edit: I don't like the cockpit design - you have to remove the big piece to get access to the pilot. In very very old Space lego sets I have they used a very simple hinge for that, I wonder why it's not the same here. But it's easy to modify it if you have the parts... (at least I think so, I should try). Edited April 9, 2008 by Nikola Bathory Quote
Vaders_son Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Well I don't own the set yet, was a little short on money for LEGO in the last time unfortunately *sceptic* . But from the pics I've seen I think it's a good set and the price is ok. (LEGO's pricing in Europe is crap anyway grml)!! The *main problem* for the ILC is just like natelite wrote the minifig sets (I love them!^^) 21/50 is a too low judgement I feel. i think it is somewhat appropriate given the price. it's a pretty expensive set for not a whole lot more. in the past that's the only way to get stormtroopers but with the ST mf pack at $10, why would you plunk $50 of your money for the same no of mfs? doesn't make sense. the model isn't really that great to begin with. gimme the imperial shuttle! :-P p.s. imperial shuttle came with 10 mfs. ILC came with just 4. *wacko* I believe it was the Imperial inspection that came with the 10 minifigs I think? Greetings, Benny Quote

Also, as pointed out, you can get the same number of stormies (and a shadow trooper ) With an Imp BP. Quote
commandosevy Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I'd give it 8/10 for play abillity 9/10 for the figs 7/10 for design 5/10 for price 9/10 for idea Overall......8/10 A great set this was one of the first sets that started me back on Lego again!!! so I recomend it so much!!!! Quote
