Corvus Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 At around 7:00 PM, the moon went under a lunar eclipse in Bend, OR. (For those who don't know where Oregon is, it's that one state above California. :-/ ) Anyway, I went up to the golf course above my house with my fickle camera. Here's what I got: So, I went inside and got the tripod. Here's a better picture: More pics here. Enjoy. :-) Will Quote
Scouty Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Nice :-) . Snow, snow, snow, clouds, clouds, clouds. All to result with the absence of a lunar eclipse at 10 p.m. for me. :-( Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I was watching the eclipse too, almost noone knew about it here, I spread the word abit, it was quite a nice sight, normally Lunar Eclipses are at like the middle of the night |-/ So this was nice. It was quite a humbling feeling, seeing something so huge being blotted out seemingly in front of you, and even more erie was that you could see sometimes that the reflection kind of wobbled, got bright and dimmer for a second, larger and then abit smaller, quite a sight indeed :-$ Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Very nice pics there, thanks for posting them. Where I live in the UK the Lunar eclipse was cancelled due to the wrong type of clouds. Quote
Caffeine Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 My plan to see it was interrupted by an untimely rainstorm. And they said the best view of it was going to be here in California too... %%$^*%@#$ storms. Quote
Ricecracker Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 actually the best view was supposed to be here in Toronto ;-) anyway, here it was a dark red and you could watch it going across the face of the moon so beautiful *wub* Quote

SupremeCommmanderGrievous Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Great pictures Mr. Mandalorian! I was also trying to take pictures from my home in Florida but could not get the camera to work. :-/ Quote
ghoulrealm Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I had a clear view from my porch and would have watched it for more than 10 seconds if it wasn't so freakin' cold out. So if you go outside and see your own planet's shadow, how many weeks of winter do we have left? Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Try Wikipedia. They've got some great photos of the Eclipse from across North America. The photo sequences from Halton Hills ON and Baltimore MD show the eclipse in its entirity. According to NASA's site, the eclipse was visible throughout most of North and South America with the West coast missing the intial onset of the eclipse. Pretty cool to see. Quote
