SpaceJoey86 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 DSCN8338 Jonah has finally reached land, and made his way to the nearest civilisation DSCN8340 But disaster strikes a nearby ship! *SNAP* DSCN8343 DSCN8346 Your ship m'lady. Thank you? Jonah Thank you Jonah. As a token of my gratitude, if you take the cargo ashore you can have it. I won't be needing it. What type of cargo? asked Jonah suspiciously. No no no, you can't have the cargo. I was offering you the ship. Just a short scene to introduce a very boring looking ship, hence the lack of photos. I haven't found a fitting name for it yet, any suggestions Hope the images worked. Quote
Captain Genaro Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Interesting story. I look forward to learning more about Jonah. Some of your pictures are rather blurry. I'd suggest investing in a cheap tripod and seeing if your camera has a macro setting. Those can help your pictures tremendously. As for your build, it looks like a good first ship. You may want to look at pictures of real ships to help identify things to include (e.g. a bowsprit) for future builds. I hope this helps. Quote
SpaceJoey86 Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 Well I got a cheap (free) tripod, and will use macro mode next time. Just more patience would have done it anyway but... I'm lazy when it comes to taking pictures. For this ship, I took inspiration from some pictures of Viking longships and similar, so no bowsprit. I am a sailor though, so I know a bit about ships. Bregir Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 It would be nice to see a picture of the whole vessel from the side, front, and back. Currently it is rather hard to make out both size and shape of her. Anyways, welcome to BoBs. I would suggest a little more care in taking the photos, although it isn't exactly my favourite part either. However, you will find that presentation of your build can make a world of difference :) Quote
SpaceJoey86 Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 DSCN8357 DSCN8356 DSCN8358 Hope these help. Next time I submit a build I will dedicate some time to taking the photos properly. Thanks for the feedback everyone! Quote
