I recently fulfilled one of my old childhood dreams and got the 6195 Neptune Discovery Lab from Aquazone - a set I've been drooling over for more than 22 years now...

Anyway, when I was building it, I started wondering: How were those raised baseplates actually produced? Does anyone know that? Since the printing is continuous throughout, I would assume that they propably printed first and then pressed into their final form. I can't think of any other way that would allow for such a continuous print on a 3-dimensional surface.

Thanks
