JamesJT Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 I was going to make my 63 corvette in black but it quickly turned in a 62. I know the scoops on the side were body colour by 1962, I just like them white... and it is still a WIP! Jurss Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Pretty recognizable. Put some flex axles, that could mimic front window. Now there's someting missing. Maybe it is possible to find something usable in system windows. Quote
1gor Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 (edited) Now I see what happened to DIno 246GT. I agree with comment by @Jurss Bodywork is not bad, but perhaps you could find something to look like hub caps Edited October 26, 2017 by I_Igor Quote
JamesJT Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 That (missing) curved windscreen does look odd from most angles. You have to imagine its there. Red sides 1 by James Tillson, on Flickr Quote
aminnich Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Great looking car! But I have to tell you, the white looks much better Quote

If I had a 62 Corvette I would have the scoops painted white anyway. The hardtop is removable. I hope the red dash board give an impression of where the windscreen should be. It dives and leans when changing direction. Quote
DugaldIC Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I love it, as always you've made excellent use of the curved panels and the shaping is spot on. I think this is my favorite up to date Quote

Boulderer Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Black panels are going to get expensive ? Quote
Lox Lego Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) Brilliant design James!! These truely are masterpieces. I’d like to recommend HOF for the whole group of these cars. Well done! Edited December 9, 2017 by Lox Lego Quote
DugaldIC Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I say you make every corvette model up to date it this scale I love all of them so far, awesome work. Quote

C4 is tempting but C5 to C7 would all look the same at this scale. I made some progress on the C2 and started the C3. C1 just needs a dashboard. Aventador2004 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I agree the 62' is great. I would love to see you make a 99' corvette. Quote

I did some more work on the C3 and got closer to the right shape. Quote
1gor Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 57' is actually my favorite Vette (of all series - specially version with 4 speed manual transmission)...and there were modeld with spoke tires...but enough of nostalgia, lets get back to topic. 57' has very similar shape to 62, just different lights and mudguards / wings due to lights. Picture shows '57-'60 rear and '61-'62 rear. Very different! I have checked and there are plenty of '61 corvettes with the new rear end and white scoops, so My '62 is now a '61 and the white scoops will be reinstated. '57 rear looks a lot harder to build. 1gor Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 You're right. I was thinking on 60' as last year of that production, but have mixed years searching through digital (Corvette) parts catalog for something... Quote
JamesJT Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 More progress with the C3. I've made lots (probably unnoticeable) changes and the headlights now pop-up. Quote
1gor Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 This reminds me on my first Corvette model - matchbox C3 T-top. My was in blue... Quote

Lipko Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Hmm... I was only talking about the Corvettes. BTW your Dino was also featured. Also the Stratos. So it's not really "never". Quote

If I though anybody would build any of them I would just use Lego RC parts but Buwizz is more fun and easier to integrate (no receiver needed). With Buwizz there is room for an extra motor and the option to gear them up but not everybody has a buwizz.
