[COR] By the books?

[Darnok]

"Ha, I knew I would find you around some books!"

 

Reinhard looked up from his read, to quickly recognise an old friend: "Harold, what a surprise! How did you make it over here, and more importantly: how did you find me?!"

 

 

Harold replied: "You know the last time we worked together, on that expedition to Pan and Salleek? It must have been what, five years ago? We were well payed, as usual. It was an exciting enterprise, as usual. I felt somewhat unsatisified at the end though, which was very unusual. I can still not say what it was in detail, but I felt like I had to try something fresh, something new. Long story short: I made it to the colonies, and have never looked back since then. As we speak, my workers are busy at the docks unloading yet another ship, with me being the head of a small but profitable trading business. It turned out I am a much better merchant than explorer!"

 

"That is all fine and dandy Harold, but how did you get to me tonight, and by the way, what is that sheet of paper in your hand?"

 

 

"That is the Reinhard I remember, on spot and impatient at all times! As I tried to explain: I have a business at the docks, and naturally have my eyes and ears in quite a few places. When some of my men told me about a Royal Flagship in the port a few weeks ago, with a grumpy passenger talking the way only you would do... what did you think I would do? Of course I recognised it was you, and had some of my people look out for you. Tonight I finally had the time to follow you myself, and here you are: books around you, and what a mess you have made of the place!"

 

"Bah, humbug! It is not my fault these new-worlders keep their libraries without any sensible order. I merely tried to educate myself on the plants and crops of the Terra Nova, but it seems to be really difficult to have it all in one place. I might have to find out more about the matter myself in, you know, field studies."

 

"As for the paper in my hands: it is one of our local newspapers. The quality of the journalism is somewhat questionable - the writers seem to enjoy their local rum a good bit too much - but it still gives you a good overview of things happening all over Terra Nova. I thought you might find it interesting."

 

 

"Oleanders and writing? Are they not too busy worshipping a sack of rice or something? I will have a look at it though, even fake news can make for a good read sometimes. But enough of this, I am happy to see you again. Given the lack of information in theses scriptures, I am afraid it might not be for too long. Where do you think I should look first if I want to get some more entries on this list of mine?"

 

"And here I thought you would like to have a drink or two before heading off for yet another exploration. I should have known better! But well, since you asked: the captain of the ship that brought you here is about to head for the settlement of Weelond tomorrow. As far as I know, he wishes to enjoy a festivity known as "Oktobearfeast", even if I am not aware that there are bears on An Holi. For what it is worth: you might enjoy the opportunity for cultural studies, as well as the local wildlife. I was told their mission was for King's Port on Cocovia shortly after this, where you might find more plants to study. There is also a major constructionwork of the Crown going on, you might want to have a look into that."

 

"That sounds interesting indeed. You know what? I will do it just as you said it. I have not even spent a month in this town, and already feel unsinspired. New havens it is what I am looking for! I can not by any chance move you to join me?"

 

"No, my old friend. I have business to do here, and I also feel like my adventurous times are over. You can always rely on me here in Arlinsport, but I will stay here and build on what I have achieved so far."

 

"So be it then. It was a pleasure seeing ou again. I guess it will not be the last time."

This build (small education) is supposed to be part of a library and/or lecture room in Arlinsport. The story above tries to expand on Reinhards origin story and set up the direction for the next weeks - enough said!

Glad you like it! I don't remember where I have seen that book build, but it is not of my creation.

Very nice build @Drunknok. The brickbuilt book is a nice touch. The room is very neat, and I like all the furniture. Keep up the good work!

Nice lecture room, Drunknok. I like the tilted floor, the furnitures, the wall and ofc the open book.

And we Oleanders we do not spend all our time worshipping a sack of rice!
