Hello, I recently purchased a Lego 42043 set and I want to make it a remote controlled truck.I know that Lego provides IR receivers and remotes but I do wish to controll it via bluetooth. My question is should I use an Arduino or Raspberry Pi as the brain of the organization.

Take a look at posts in already established discussions about 42043. No need to set a new discussion about this. And a lot of people use SBrick - bluetooth controlled replacement of Lego's IR. I think also Buzzwhizz does the same/similar.
