Spud The Viking Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Small Plantation: Footprint 1024 studs Life is always hard on a plantation, even more so when Hamish the taskmaster is breathing down your neck. My cousin and his family on my mother's side do not have it as good as I do, they work day and night growing and harvesting potatoes or 'tatties'. It is the time of year they are forced out to howk tatties with few breaks for rest. Hamish is in no way a noble, he carries a small rod to intimidate the family an barks orders to increase the pace. The only positive I can see is that this year will be a good crop and my cousin can see a little bit of that profit. Located in Arlinsport _______ Come on, what else was I going to build first other than a spud plantation? Edited September 29, 2017 by Spud The Viking Quote
Mesabi Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Nice build Spud. I really like the shingling you did on the house, but I would like to have seen more of it. They've got These now. so you could have done the wrap around. But that's a minor criticism. I really like the outdoor parts. It's fitting too. Oh, and you should have done an interior on the house. Also, that part is too modern for my collection Quote
Ayrlego Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Nice plantation Spud and I think that potatoes are quite fitting for the more temperature climate of Arlinsport. The potatoes themselves are well done - I was planning a potato field at one stage for LoR but never got around to building it. I was wondering whether to use brown or tan round 1x1 plates for the potatoes and I think you have shown here that the tan work very well and provide a contrast to the brown field. Great job! Quote

Bodi Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 I like the potatoes field, the brown plates work well to reproduce the undulated terrain, the building on the corner is nice too, so does the tree, and I like your minifigs. Quote
