LegoRacer1 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Well I'm no expert but I have been told to add more detail to the ground, and it would look a lot better if you made your own trees. Just things I have been told(still working on doing it) -Most importantly welcome to Eurobricks ShoelaceAglet. Quote
ramar Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Hello! To me this is a great MOC, especially for the first one. It's planned, detailed and by the characters you can see there's a story in it. The wall is just great. I agree that ground could be more detailed (I know mine gave me headache with my MOC). I believe more experience builders will address this topic much better. Looking forward to see more of your creations soon! Quote
brickmasterben11 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 The greebling is perfect for this build. Welcome to Eurobricks! Quote
BrickJagger Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Great start! The wall is something to be proud of, I love the detailing the smaller arches on each side. The ground could use a bit of work, I would recommend using the "flower stem" pieces en masse to represent grass. Looking forward to more builds like these. Quote
zoth33 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Very nice wall. The pictures are great quality too but I agree with others that the ground does need more attention. Good job. Quote

I wanted to mix if up a bit, using a brick built tree with some pieces, and went for "less is more" with the landscaping, but seems more detailing with that is the way to go, thanks for the imput! Hopefully get around to next MOC sooner than later, but not looking forward to tearing this one apart, ha. On 9/27/2017 at 6:40 PM, brickmasterben11 said: The greebling is perfect for this build. Those damn arches gave me a lot of trouble, couldn't land on a design that I was 100% happy with, but this was close. I tossed a few over by the tree, to give a more overgrown area, but I can see what you mean by adding more. Thanks! On 9/27/2017 at 11:52 PM, zoth33 said: Very nice wall. Next MOC will definitely have some more detailed landscaping. Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Nice build ! For a first MOC it is a solid one ! Good job ! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 (edited) Great start to your building career! The wall texture is good, and I like that you worked in arches and buttresses In general, I find it best to try and keep SNOT tiles mostly horizontal (or close to it). The landscape isn't bad, but I think the dirt path area should continue through the green plates right to the front edge of the model. The tree looks very nice If you would like to get lots of feedback and critique on your models, you should check out Guilds of Historica. It's a superb place to develop your castle building skills. KristofBD Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Excellent MOC! I mostly like the atmosphere. The wall is very nice, the greenery adds nicely. You could indeed make it more rich, but on the other hand, this looks ok as well! Quote
