Hello everyone,

My name is RNG. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all, for I am an AFOL- who in the past day or two, has re-discovered LEGO. A little bit about me; I grew up playing with LEGO from the early 2000s, a time when LEGO (seemingly) was much less expensive, and much harder to purchase. I cannot remember what my first set was, but I suspect it was bought for me as a Christmas gift. By 2006, my collection had grown significantly- occupying much of my room, and a large portion of my parent's house. However, by 2008 my interest declined steeply- as I prepared to move into higher levels of education. I ended up selling my entire LEGO collection, and walked away from the hobby into my first "dark age".

As I mentioned earlier, I have only very recently re-discovered LEGO. This is mostly thanks to a colleague of mine, who showed me the recently released "Kicks and Bricks" trailer for the upcoming LEGO Ninjago Movie. The sheer sight of the magnificent trailer got me thinking back to my childhood, and made me want to collect LEGO again. So here I am, typing this introduction to an online LEGO forum- something I wouldn't have thought of doing a week ago.

Currently, I have not yet bought my first set- as I am busy looking for stores nearby that will offer a good selection (there is a nearby Target that might be worthwhile investigating). Having a look at the sets currently available, I think the Pizza Van (set 60150) looks particularly good to me, and may well be my first set as an AFOL. Other than that, I am not sure where this re-found hobby will take me, and I am looking forward to building new sets and potentially meeting new people.

Similarly, I am considering starting other social media accounts (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc.) to share my progression in the hobby with even more people, but I am currently undecided. Anyway I hope you all enjoyed, to some extent, my career in LEGO. I cannot wait to see what the latter part of 2017 brings, heading into 2018, especially with a bunch of bricks by my side!

Thanks for reading,

RNG
