koalayummies Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 (edited) Welcome to the Town Credit Union financial cooperative. No longer the for-profit Brick Bank so you don't have to worry about some pricks on Wall Street gambling with your money and then whining and crying when they screw up and asking for a bailout from the government while wrecking the entire economy. Improved security, double doors with jail doors and ballistic glass doors so no more sneaky assault guy style wannabe james bond ninja thieves crawling through air ducts or down chimneys to steal your money. Full non-corner Brick Bank: Second floor, ditched the large safe where all money is kept together and thus easily stolen. Now they have private security and utilize random assigned double-keyed security boxes thus making much harder to walk off with all the bank's cash. Also kept the open lobby. All the old Brick Bank bankers are in prison now, for life, so new Credit Union employee, private security and the mega security computer five billion. \ Kept the chandelier: With 16-wide its nice to be able to split up the order of the buildings. fordtruckin Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Looks great. Both modulars look official and appealing to the eye. Great story to go along with them as well! Did you have to use a lot of pieces that weren't included in the set? Quote

Aside from the obvious pieces that aren't in the set like the jail doors and computer screen slope bricks I did need to borrow some Dark Stone Grey and Sand Blue from Assembly Square, mostly 1x6 and 1x8 bricks since I did the laundromat first and that used a lot of the dark stone grey that comes with Brick Bank. If you just did the BB in 16-wide I think it could be done with very few extras required. Quote
paupadros Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Very very very good.Brick Bank has always looked too wide for what it is, you've made both this and the Laundromat a million times better. Congrats! Quote
ReplicaOfLife Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 The Brick Bank looks very nice in this setup. It's always a good idea to separate it from the crummy Laundromat. Doing it in 16 wide is a fresh idea and works out fine. Quote
Sir Stig Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Very nice conversion, retaining the essence of the original design. Great story. Glad to hear that white collar criminals are getting jailed for once. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Very nice heavy modified modular, Brick On 'koalayummies' ! Quote

LM71Blackbird Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Great looking re-design, they look like they were supposed to be like that! It would be cool if this could be included as an alternate build in the official instruction booklets! Quote
n8udd Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 I've just stumbled across this post whilst looking to do a similar mod. It appears most of the pictures are missing in the thread above, I don't suppose you have a Flickr album or similar? (Sorry for re-opening an old thread, but it didn't seem appropriate to start a new one). Quote
