Chwtom Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 I would like to contract with an experienced designer to create a lego model of my car (2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee high altitude, pictured). How would I do this? I don't need the engine or detailed interior, but would like the exterior to look good. if I find someone, what should I expect for a fee? Is there something typical per piece? thank you
JDL1967 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 I am not sure if your question is in the right topic. The best thing to do is ask the EB staff if you have posted it right. If you want information how to build your own scale model out of lego, then there is a lot of information on the EB forum. Below i have placed a link for you to the scale modeling help topic. Good luck..
dr_spock Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 You can search for a Certified LEGO Professional in your area and inquire. You can also approach a local LUG in your area. Some times they have members willing to work on commission. Costs depend on how big and detailed you want the model to be.
bombcar Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Just so you know, the cost will WAY exceed what you probably expect - think more “commissioning an artist” and less “buying a set/pieces” - after all the builder will buy peices on BrickLink, spend 20-100 hours on the model, as sell it to you still having to earn a profit. However, if you find a MOC’r who has already built a similar vehicle, they may be willing to modify/sell it for not much over the piece-price.
